Alta Buden was awarded the Kossak Travel Grant in 2017 and traveled to the Republic of Maldives to further her practice of exploring our changing relationship to water in the face of climate change. She spent time there creating a series of photograms documenting the beaches and learning from local people what daily life is like in a place scientists have predicted will disappear underwater within her lifetime.
